My wife and I have two girls and one boy. We are going to start trying for our final baby and Baby Boy both of us ideally would like a boy. Either way it doesn't matter if it's a boy or a girl, but we would like to try to get any odds in our favor to have a boy. This gives him the option for his name to sound more familiar and down to earth, particularly if there is trouble with it in school. Where Bentley sounds proper and educated, Ben is a name that sounds friendly and fun. You and he will have the choice of either. And James is even a good fall-back name, should the boy decide he doesn’t like Bentley. This does happen sometimes, but if you encourage and allow him to really take possession of his own name, he will grow to appreciate at least some form of it. I love a name with options.
