If you want them to look faded but still have color, just desaturate the image. This is extremely easy to do in Picasa (download it for free from Google). You can also add film grain in Picasa, and that will definitely give you the old feel that you’re looking for.

thrift stores have excellent vintage clothes for the cheaps. You could find a bunch of different items, and then pair them up to your liking. Claires has vintage looking accessories as well (very cute).
