Why does my corgi nip.?
I have a corgi mix. No idea what he is mixed with. When he wants attention Ideas Nip he will lightly nip at our legs, feet, etc. He is not biting, it is more like a pinch. He also like to nip my nose when I am close and petting him. He does not do this with my wife. Any ideas?

If he jumps and nips then he’s not well trained. Well trained means well trained.Has he been taught bite inhibition at all? Mouthing is a very bad behavior and only gets worse as the dogs gets older. If he nips then you need to yelp very loudly and immediately cease all attention, leave the room etc., or the dog leaves he room and this must be done every time he nips. What you must do is ignore the dog when you come home, the key to dog training is consistency, everyone must train the exact same way. If you want this behavior to stop you must never allow him to jump up EVER. It’s easier to train a dog to not jump than it is to train a dog to know the difference of when he can and cannot jump therefore the jumping must stop. When you come home do not greet your dog or make eye contact nor must you talk to him, no off, down or anything, simply keep walking and ignore his jumping. When he stops jumping and has all paws on the floor then greet him quietly, if he jumps stop and walk away. He must learn that jumping = no attention. If he happens to nip at this time then yelp/squeal loudly and turn your back on him, if he moves to your front turn around and give him your back again, when he stops then praise him.Guests must do this also, they must ignore your dog when they enter, your dog must be on a leash and taught to sit and wait while guests enter, they are to walk past and ignore. Once the dog is calm then he’s allowed to greet the guests and only when he’s calm.Remember a behavior reinforced will continue a behavior ignored will eventually stop. Dont’ get frustrated this behavior takes months to stop.Good luck
