I would assume that the “ghosts” were made due to exposure to sun or light on the guitar. I’m thinking that your best bet to lose them would be to have it repainted. If it’s taking the stickers off that’s a problem, try a paper towel with cooking oil. It’ll soak through the stickers and take the “stickiness” out of them.

It was made by Murray Bicycle Company in April 1978, in Brentwood Tennessee.Murray has not made a bike in at least a decade, and to my knowledge folded sometime in 2004. The Murray name was bought by someone for use on a series of lawn equipment.Not a real good bike but fine for riding around as a “rain bike”.
My daughter had one, I remember it had drawers like you describe. I looked for it, but can’t find it. I don’t think they are being made now.
