There are a ton of websites that can help you out with this. There are a few basic supplies that you will need:Album and sheet protectorsScissors or paper trimmer – you can get by with just a good pair of scissors but it is much much easier with a trimmer. You can get a decent one for 10.00 at walmartAdhesive – you can use a basic glue stick, but invest a couple dollars in a scrapbook adhesive (walmart again) and you will be happier.A good pen or computer fonts to do your journaling. The main thing to remember is that you are doing this for yourself/children, not to impress everyone with your pages. That is great, but don’t stress yourself with it. Just have fun. If you are looking for basics, find a creative memories class, you don’t have to buy anything. Also try looking for ideas at http://www.scrapjazz.com or http://www.splitcoaststampers.com Good luck, you will love this great, but addicting hobby!
One method I use it to find a long table and lay the backgrounds out along the edges. I then start placing photos and embellishments on the backgrounds, leaving them loose. I can see what the whole scrapbook will look like this way and can keep changing things till I am happy with the overall effect. Then I carefully stack everything together in order, and then I start making each page. There are lots of sites you can go to for scrapbook layout ideas. Page Maps is good:http://www.pagemaps.com/You can pick a couple of layouts that you like and then do variations of them for each page. You can make a mirror image of your favourite layout. or turn it around a quarter of a page, or turn the sketch upside down and use it that way. Then your scrapbook will have a very coordinated look about it.I hope this helps you get started!

You should check out paper quilling for scrapbooking embellishments…you can make some really cool quilled patterns and its not all that expensive to buy the materials (although not available in most stores, so you have to get online.) Quilling is a great way to embellish your scrapbooks. If you don’t know what it is, its basically coiling thin strips of paper into fun designs like quilled flowers, animals, letters, etc. I discovered it not too long ago and I think its pretty cool and definitely a neat paper embellishment for scrapbooks; plus its pretty unique! You can check it out at http://www.LearnQuilling.com and watch the free video lesson on quilling to see what I mean. Enjoy your scrapbooking! Hope that gives you a good idea to use for your pages!
This site has some pretty nice, low-cost supplies, and is cheaper than Amazon on some things – http://www.memoryscrapbooks.com/supplies.html
Fill up a sheet of copy paper with as many sayings ( leaving a border all the way around ) that you can fit. Make a copy of this on a sheet of vellum paper. Now apply this paper to a sheet of archival adhesive paper which you can get in a craft store. As another answerer mentioned, a Xyron machine is wonderful for this. Run the whole sheet through. Once the adhesive is applied, you can cut out the saying you want to use. You simply peel off the paper backing. This machine might seem expensive in the beginning but if you do a lot of scrap booking, it’s worth the investment. Look for it to go on sale at Michale’s or A.C.Moores or use their 40% off coupon. You can apply the adhesive to anything you want, from ribbons to photographs.
Their parent company is EK Success Ltd. I’ve linked their homepage and Careers page below. Best of luck to you!
You really can buy this stuff anywhere now. Michael’s, ACMoore, JoAnn,Walmart and dollar stores of all places carry lots of supplies. Check out HGTV.com and check out their video library for some tips on getting started. You can also use lots of stuff that isn’t just for scrapbooking. Cloth, latches, keys ,wire ,beads…..not just stickers and paper! Get a good glue,a sharp pair of scissors and a basic album (decorate the cover to fit your own style) are all you need. Have fun!
Yuzawaya (ユザワヤ)is one of the biggest Japanese department store, specialised in handicrafts , art supplies, fabrics, and so on. Today I’ve just visited Yuzawaya in Kichijoji which is the nearest “Yuzawaya” from the central area of Tokyo. The shop is eight-story building and is located near the Kichijoji JR train station (1or 2 min. from the south exit of the train station). I’ve confirmed that they sell scrap-booking supplies at the art supply department, 6th floor of the building. On the 6th floor, stickers and die-cuts are sold in the scrap-booking section, and special papers and decorated pages for scrap-booking are sold in the paper section.Yuzawaya in Kichijoji: Address: 2-1-25 Kichijoji-minamimachi, Musashino-city, TokyoPhone: 0422-79-4141Opening Hour: AM10:00~PM:8:30(Jan.~Mar.& June~Sep.)AM10:00~PM:9:00(Apr.~May.・Oct.~Dec.)http://www.yuzawaya.co.jp/company/brochure.htmlhttp://www.yuzawaya.co.jp/information/mise_ki.html(accessed Mar. 2007)*Kichijoji is a fashonable and very populer town in Tokyo for shopping, eating, and etc, and it takes only 15 min. from Shinjuku by train (JR Chuo-line). this is easy to show you than to try to explain. But basically you just put the transfer down where you want it and rub the stick hard over and it should transfer over. Hope this helps. Happy scrapping!
That is a very nice thing that you are doing, and the fact that you want it to last is even better. I scrapbook all the time and have found that cheap isnt always bad, but you need to make sure that the stickers are acid/lingin free. This means that there are not acids in the stickers that could ruin the pictures or papers. I use Mrs. Grossmans alot, and if you do a search on the net, you can find places where you can order stickers, and get ones and twos and not hve to buy the whole roll. Also check out scrapbooking places like Michaels ( a craft store) or Creative Memories they can help you out, and I know with Creative Memories you can hve a scrapbook “party” and the consultant will give you some great information. Good Luck
you could get punches or stencils and make them yourself.
I looked around on google and stuff, and couldn’t find anything. I would call around to local scrapbook stores, they might still have them…it might be something that came out a few years ago, or the company’s now closed, and so you will have a hard time finding them on the web. If you go to a scrapbook store, you may not find that EXACT design, but I know you’ll find something pretty close. You can also try that veritable giant for finding ANYTHING…ebay. Good luck!
You could try sites below. You may find paper with scissors on it.
