Hi:What a great idea. Don’t forget to do one for yourself too! Why not write down the food you ate; things that are different than at home; the types of money; interesting brochures; unusual words you see; funny mistakes when you misheard or misread something; what kids your age wore; if people looked happy, sad, smiling; ways people helped you; drawings of road signs; say why you like what’s at home better and vise versa; types of music you hear; types and sizes of cars and trucks; everything that captures your thoughts. It sounds like you have a wonderful imagination and are thoughtful. Have a fabulous time! Your parents must really love you to do this for you. Take care, Shari

You could break apart old floppy disks and use the black plastic inside. You can use ribbon, thread, string, sand and seeds. I used broken glass once. If you use glass a very solid substrate is needed. I found a leaf last summer that all that was left were the veins. I haven’t used it yet but then again it will keep. Used postage is always good. You did not ask about tools but sewing machines work well with a lot of different materials. I also like candy wrappers and the foil or plastic sealers from wine bottles. You can use soda cans and beer caps and other rusty things.

I agree with the previous answers…putting any kind of adhesive on a genuine Les Paul would really be a shame. There is a guitar decal company I bought from before which sold static cling guitar decals and I don’t think they damage the guitar’s finish (and of course, they’re removable). You could even submit your own design to them and they would cut it out for you. Unfortunately I don’t remember what the address of it was but maybe you can do a search on a search engine for them.

Just make your scrapbook about your acheivements. If you have any pictures of yourself participating in a charitable event, use those. It could be a food drive, a cancer walk, a veteran’s dinner, etc. Maybe have a page dedicated to things people say about you. Have your teachers write down their thoughts about you, and add them to the page.I know, my ideas aren’t really that great. I’m Secretary for NJHS, soon to be NHS, and I simply wrote a speech, but I put a lot of effort into it to make it great. Whether your scrap book is amazing or not, people are going to vote for YOU, not your book. Good luck.Elaine
