I agree, it’s pretty annoying. I buy white and it’s *only* because the designs are so archaic. Every once in awhile I’ll see a cool design but they are picked over rather quickly. I think I’d like to see some wild polka dots or “have a nice day” smiley or something. Even some hamburgers and hotdogs in the summer would be cool…

Paper flowers are acceptable and can look quite handsome. However if you choose to use both paper and fresh, do not mix them in the same arrangement, though you could get away with mixing in dried flowers, purple status or babies breath.Use the paper flowers with a purpose, to ensure that the use of them does not appear as though you were trying to cut corners. For example- low profile centerpieces, or flanking the alter and/or entryway of the reception. That way they can be something you’ll be proud of and you did it to reflect your eclectic personality. Also, they will become keepsakes.
