I agree with the yellow and mirrors but don’t go too bright. Also, I would add some more color then just the yellow, that could be a bit of over kill in a 1000sq ft space. Color combo’s that may look good…Pale Yellow and Raspberry – very IN right nowGrey’s, black and white for a more sophisticated feelSilver and Pale BlueGood Luck and congrats on the new store.

Well, if you want it to last you’d have to do a bunch work beforehand. After writing up a business plan you need to:1. Draw up a floorplan and determine how many square feet (sq. ft.) you’ll need2. Call realtors and find out how much it costs per sq. ft. in the area you want to open3. Write a list of all supplies and materials you’ll need (pens, computers, clothing racks, mirrors, etc., keep going back and adding to your list because all first time business owners leave a ton of stuff off of it) with costs4. Write a list of all services you’ll need (credit card acceptance systems, phone lines, etc.) with costs5. Find suppliers and determine how much it will cost for items you wish to sell6. Go to other stores and see how much they are able to mark up those items7. Make a spreadsheet showing your profit margin for each item you wish to sell8. Determine how many sales you’ll have to make each month just to pay the monthly bills9. Determine how many sales you’ll have to make each month to pay yourself enough to live onThere is more, but this should keep you busy for a while and tell you if the business is even feasible.Good luck!

A Coach bag, or a Juicy Couture or a Kate Spade handbag are EXACTLY the same if you buy them from a boutique or a department store. Personally I like to buy them from the place where I can get them for the least amount of money.Because of this, I buy nearly all my handbags from eBay. I have very expensive tastes, but a not so expensive budget so I can get very high end bags on eBay for less money. My last purchase was a $695 Isabella Fiore handbag that I paid $219 for! If your not familiar with Isabella Fiore – you must check her out – her bags are works of art!

The reason people will go to a boutique is to buy something special and unique, not something they could find at a department store. The best way to stand out is to not try to compete with the big box stores. Develop a brand that sets your store apart. This will increase interest and loyalty to your small boutique.http://www.mogologo.com is a good logo company that can help you create a solid brand

Funny you would ask. I just spoke with a representative from Medela yesterday. They are a brand for baby products. I’m sure you have heard of them. They do everything having to do with breastfeeding, bottles, pumps, etc. Before you contact any supplier, you will want to establish a business entity. They will most likely ask for your business information. This of course isn’t hard. But alot of people are intimidated by the idea of starting their own LLC or S corp on their own. If you want to make money online doing baby stuff. My wife clicked on a facebook ad and found this website: http://www.PrintablePampersCoupons.blogs…This site has coupon codes for diapers and formula and it teaches you how to get diapers, formula, and other baby products all free. You can even make money doing this. The instructions say to go to diapers.com and make a 1 time purchase on diapers using the promo code: drop10 . That will be your last time paying for diapers. Then you will receive your own promo code that when you share it with others you get credits added to your account on diapers.com (which has many baby products in addition to diapers). For every time people place an order that you referred, you will continue to receive cash added to your account. Then you can just sit back and watch your money grow! It’s so cool. They explain it better at their site.

important is you need to have some money, make a business plan, go to the small business administration in your town, get some in formations.Look where you want to open your store, where is located, is there more stores like that, this will be not so good, find a some name for your store, and make the registrations for taxes, if you are making money over the years and your business working very good and you can open another store and more and more…. Good luck for your business…

My suggestion would be to work at one of your favorite stores. You will get to know the business and the customers first hand. Working your way up and managing one of those stores will set you up for success for your own store. Retail is challenging and unless you have the luxury of tons of money you will need to make sure it is what you really love doing day in day out.Knowing the trends is only a fraction of what it takes to open and run a store. You will need experience, lots of money and the right location. You can also rent a kiosk/cart in a mall to test out your concept before signing a brick and mortar lease. Setting up an online store is something you can do during college which can help you get started.Alinahttp://www.oliveandbeanboutique.com

You need to use your own money to get started. Nobody lends money to beginners. Start out small by finding local designers looking for a place to sell their designs or fill the racks with consignments. Once you have established the business and you wish to expand, then you go to the bank with a solid business plan and ask for a loan.

Go ahead, it happens all the time. Just make sure it isn’t something that wouldn’t overly outshine you, you don’t want to lose customers.

Yes I was a buyer for a boutique, so I know just the places. Well, there are 3 big fashion wholesale marts: LA, Dallas, and New York. I live in the west, so I would go to the LA Fashion District in downtown Los Angeles. I hear LA is best- I went to San Pedro Wholesale Mart or LA Mart. So you can actually go to one of these fashion marts, go to Vegas to the Magic convention show and order merchandise OR you can order wholesale clothes through these websites online:http://www.lashowroom.com/http://www.fashiongo.net/FGSite/Main.aspxIt does depend on what kind of brands/lines you want. Designer/known labels you must make appts with.

I shop on Ebay for lingerie all the time. There’s tons of cute stuff on their and you can start a store with them too. Or, you can link an Ebay store to another website. Plus, there’s all kinds of drop shipping sites for lingerie, so it could be a great idea.
